After decades of other musical collaborations, we formed the band Favorite Note in Gothenburg Sweden 2014. The band was initially a trio consisting of Rickard Borgström, Anders Tidemyr and Manne Lidén on drums and percussion. After the pandemic in 2021 when Manne paused his participation, we have continued as a duo. Favorite Note plays art rock and pop as a source of inspiration.

The purpose of the band was to be able to write and play our own songs and music that there was no room for in other constellations. Given the above definition we don't care about what's in or what's trending in the music industry, but play what we ourselves like and find stimulating. Also as the band name suggests, the music and styles can vary and are allowed to vary :) We have all been a bit of multi-instrumentalists, which is practical when there are few of us so what instruments we play are and become different on different songs, but apart from some odd instruments mainly it is guitar, keyboard, bass and vocals that apply. 

Since we as individuals have been around since the days of magnetic tapes, this is still how we work in the musical process, so no cutting, slicing, quantizing and indeed no autotune, although magnetic tapes have of course been replaced by digital recording in DAWs for some time. In other words, we values ​​human craftsmanship and traditional ways of creating, recording and performing our music with the principle and the painful reminder of shit in, is shit out ;)

We hope that our enthusiasm for the music we create is positive contagious and that we will see you at upcoming gigs and with more new music.
